2D Artist

We are one of Australia's largest game development companies in Melbourne and we are looking for a super switched on 2D Artist to help contribute to our exciting hollywood titles.

You will work closely with the team to help set and maintain high visual standards in a fast paced collaborative environment.

This role is full-time, based in-house. We can consider permanent or in-house contract employment but not freelance or agencies. You must be able to legally work in Australia.

  • To provide exceptional visual quality on your projects to create a fun and engaging experience.

  • Identification and assistance in the creation of documentation in projects you are tasked to.

  • Creative sensibility in early development of 2D characters and environments through sketches, iteration and to final rendering.

  • Working alongside the other Art team members in a professional manner. And providing thoughts on improvements to all projects studio-wide.

  • Implement feedback from Lead Artist and Art Director.

  • Liaise with Art Lead & producers within the scheduling phase of projects to ensure art implementation is within time/budget.

  • Work with the team to reinforce art style and to resolve stylistic questions.

  • Review progress of art team tasks and communicate potential issues to Art Lead and Producer.

  • Constant research & interpretation of latest 2D trends, techniques and technologies.

  • To help in reinforcing great teamwork and amazing studio culture!


  • 2+ years of professional experience as a 2D artist or illustrator.

  • Ability to contribute to a vision and help guide your projects to success.

  • Experience providing mentorship and training to more junior members of the team.

  • Exceptional level of understanding of Adobe Photoshop.

  • Understanding of character anatomy, colour theory, drapery, composition and digital painting fundamentals.

  • Solid traditional drawing skills.

  • Review progress with art team tasks and communicate potential issues to the Art Lead and Producer.

  • Excellent initiative, self-motivation, communication, organizational and problem solving skills, as well as team working and the ability to accept and follow direction

  • The ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously and manage competing priorities.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently to get the job done without day-to-day direction.

  • Think on their feet and act quickly.

  • Have a can-do with the ability to turn a negative into a positive, no problem is too great.


  • Experience in UI/UX.

  • Experience or familiarity with Spine 2D

  • An interest or passion in Fashion and decor!
