Overview

PlaySide Studios are seeking a kick-ass Concept Artist to join our team. You should have an eye for clean and playful design, possess superior visual communication skills, be highly adaptable and have the ability to translate high-level requirements into a variety of concept art deliverables ranging from characters & environments to props and vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with the Art Director, Concept Art Lead and Lead Artist to create a variety of concept art that reflects the game’s visual style and needs.

• Ideate and create detailed character concept, environment concept and other supporting visual development work for internal & external art teams.

• Work collaboratively with the External Art Management team to support the creation of art briefs and provide feedback and/or paintovers on externally delivered assets.

• Assist with the visual development & market testing of new titles

• Ensuring a high level of art quality & visual consistency is maintained across multiple projects.

What You Bring To The Role

• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop

• Strong foundational knowledge of human anatomy, form and color theory

• Proven ability to work on a diverse range of styles

• Proactive in planning, prioritization and time management with the ability to work to strict deadlines

• Ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously

• Strong verbal/written communication skills

• Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively

Bonus Points!

• Experience with External Art Teams

• Experience with Unity or other game engines

• Background in marketing and/or digital illustration

• Interest in games and/or game development

• Efficient or interested in stylized art style
