C++ Engine Engineer


We are one of Australia's largest game development companies in Melbourne and we are looking for a highly skilled C++ Programmer to join our talented team in developing a game for PC, VR, Mobile and console platforms. We’re looking for an individual that has very strong engine programming skills and will help bring our games to the next level by joining a team that holds the player’s connected experience at the core of its mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, document, debug, and test C++ code

  • Work and develop game systems within a proprietary game engine

  • Ability to port engine code from an existing platform to a new platform

  • Ability to identify and optimise engine code to ensure the game engine will run as performantly as possible

  • Contribute to the development and discussions surrounding overall engine architecture

  • Solid understanding of Math and 3D Graphics

  • Work collaboratively and communicate with game designers, artists, animation, and audio teams

  • Maintain and extend documentation on network-oriented features and systems

  • Writing performant code for mobile VR devices

What You Bring To The Role

  • Experience in C++

  • Shipped at least 2 games doing gameplay or engine engineering for PC or console

  • Good understanding of multithreading and how to write code for such systems

  • Understanding of PC, console and mobile game systems and technologies

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work as a part of a team

  • Self-directed, focused, and detail-oriented

Bonus Points

  • Knowledge and understanding of network and multiplayer architecture

  • Strong knowledge of C#

  • Work with low-level graphics or rendering programming

  • Worked with the Unreal Engine source code
