JUNIOR COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

To continue our growth in the global video games market, we are looking for a Junior Communications Manager to join our top tier Marketing & Communications team.

 

As Junior Communications Manager, you will support our global communications initiatives to deliver world class PR and social campaigns, with a key focus on influencer identification and engagement and ambassador programs. 


Reporting to the Senior Global Communications Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and establishing strong connections with relevant gaming and non-gaming content creators, integrating influencer strategies into product marketing campaigns, and delivering on broader communications objectives across PlaySide brands and products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of global communications strategic planning, across all business units, projects, and franchises, and in line with brand and business objectives

  • Help to build engaged audiences through delivering culturally and contextually relevant, compelling content for our current player base, and to attract new players

  • Support the broader marketing and communications team in driving best-in-class communications strategy and execution

  • Develop strategic partner and influencer relationships with key media and relevant and engaged creator partners to support upcoming PlaySide game and product launches

  • Collaborate with the Senior Global Communications Manager to determine influencer strategies for all PlaySide brands, products, and services

  • Take part in and help drive influencer campaigns (organic and paid) that align with communications and marketing strategies, backed by strong rationale and supporting data

  • Build and maintain a deep understanding of the content creator and streaming landscape globally to identify new talent

  • Analyse engagement levels of creators, streamers and community influencers and suggest relevant targets for campaigns based on data driven insights

  • Draft external and internal communications documents, including, but not limited to, press releases and press blasts, weekly developer blog posts, brand tone guidelines and social copy across all brands, and that support all relevant business objectives

  • Deliver effective measurement and reporting of influencer and communications campaign performance across all games and PlaySide business units

  • Provide weekly reporting of communications impact to the Senior Global Communications Manager and other relevant internal stakeholders 

  • Support the relationship management of global communications, influencer, and production agency partners

  • Coordinate and participate in events to build relationships with relevant creators

  • Assist with the production of social copy and assets for PlaySide social channels to support creator or community activations and campaigns

  • Support existing community focused programs, while identifying ways to build further engagement

  • Copywriting & scheduling content across social media platforms

  • Stay up to date on cultural and social media trends, and gaming, (e)sports, media & entertainment news, and other industry leaders, and share learnings, insights and best practices with the broader Marketing & Communications team, and key internal stakeholders on a regular basis

What You Bring To The Role

  • Knowledge of gaming markets; with skills in building new relationships with existing and emerging media and influencers

  • Strong understanding of the social media and video content/streaming landscape and the nuances between the type of content on different platforms, with emphasis on Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram and Twitter

  • A highly organised and detail-oriented problem-solver, who can quickly navigate a fast-paced business environment to find solutions and drive effective and timely decision making

  • Keen interest in the ever-changing influencer and social media landscape and understanding the need to constantly adapt to developments and change strategic approaches

  • Excellent team player with the ability to build, foster and nurture strong relationships across internal functions and external partners.

  • Genuine passion and excitement for discovering potential brand advocates

  • An ability to differentiate between using personal initiative and knowing when to escalate an issue to the Senior Global Communications Manager

  • Must possess exceptional ability to craft fresh, engaging, and innovative digital experiences intended to grow the cultural relevance and earned media awareness for PlaySide’s product and properties

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a confident presenter
