

STORYBOARD ARTIST
Overview
PlaySide Studios is a Melbourne-based world class game studio, and we're on the hunt for experienced Storyboard Artists! The Storyboard Artist works closely with the project team to relay narrative vision through the storyboards to be passed onto external development studios.
Key Responsibilities

Create, complete and deliver storyboards in accordance with the script’s direction;

Participate in the story development, concept and brainstorming meetings for the script as required by the narrative team;

Contribute ideas, collaborate and communicate openly with all members of the team;

Ensure that all artwork meets the technical and creative requirements of the script as directed by the narrative team;

Convey the essence of the storyline, scene structure, and character emotion and create action and drama in alignment with the overall direction of the script;

Solve story and structure problems and punch up scenes in collaboration with the Story and Series Directors;

Develop character personality and dramatic/comedic action;

Work with Director/s to define staging, pacing and camera action;

Incorporate Director/s notes;

Ensure continuity and consistency across the storyboards including with respect to the size of assets, locations of characters and camera
What You Bring To The Role
-
Solid storyboarding experience in an animated television series, film or game production environment.

High professional standard of traditional arts based skills including illustration;
-
Excellent time management skills and an ability to work to deadlines;
-
Ability to express, through drawing, action and its relation to the script;
-
Good knowledge of cinematography and scene structuring;
-
Superior eye for composition, staging and detail
